Jambi
Jambi's name is taken from the term "DJAMBE" (name for a kind of nut trees in Javanese). The term was later changed to "DJAMBI".

Jambi's name is taken from the term "DJAMBE" (name for a kind of nut trees in Javanese). The term was later changed to "DJAMBI".
And because the Indonesian spelling is enhanced, the name changed to JAMBI Djambe. Later the name was officially adopted as the name of a place, such as the Residency Jambi, Jambi province and city of Jambi.
Jambi province officially became a province in 1958, based on Law No. 61 of 1958 dated 25 June 1958.
